Or just start practicing changing into second gear without the clutch at all.

As long as the revs are right it should just pop straight in.

yeah, the second gear crunch is common, mine seemed fine intil you tried to change at high revs, i have a mate whose was a bit worse than mine, second gear aswell.

check you have the clutch disengaging enough when you push the pedal, i know i had to muck around with mine a bit to get it right...

my advice, ignore it!

my mate has a skyline GTR and they reckon its common in them (synchros dying), everything youve mentioned. His grinds into fourth, they just told him to keep driving it till the box is completely F*%$cked. New s13 boxes are pretty cheap anyways, and youd probably want second gear hey

ok, good news! my CA 1200 is finally driving and quickly too but i have a small problem and i fear the answer.

Every time i try and change down to 2nd and most times i change up to 2nd it grinds like an sxe shapener! i fear that its the syncro's on 2nd and this means a box out? it doesnt do this in any other gear. any ideas boys?

Thanks
Elliott
