Congrats on the wedding - just one more step to go before life really gets interesting As far as the new engine goes - If I can at least keep up with you and Chris then it will all be worth it
Cheers

Hi guys! Well it seems everybody had a great weekend down at Wakefield. Thats great to see!! I'm sorry we were missing from the event. Like any addicted race fan, I planned mine and Julie's wedding between this years race events...but unfortunately, the race dates all changed at the last minute, and I was unable to attend. I'm also resonposible for Michael and Dave not attending too for that reason... sorry boys!!

Don't worry... the Datsun saw some sunlight on the day anyway as it was involved in some of the wedding photos...I'll attach later.

Its always a shame to miss a championship event, particularly after our success last year (note the shameless bragging here!). Actually, I'm personally predicting I'll only be able to attend a handful of this years events due to work, uni, honeymoon, and married life commitments.

Jeff - Glad to see you have the car running...finally! haha. Bet it was a much bigger job than it looked at the start. But the result sounds worth it. - I'll be real interested to see how she goes the next time were out on the track together.

Benny - nice work. how did the times look?

Dodgeman - Sorry to miss meeting you in the flesh and hearing all your datsun trivia and sorts.

Chris (boss) - There's always another day! The championship will be yours this year, but what till next year!

Newbies - well done! hope your car gives you as much fun as mine has given me!

Thanks Harry,
it even sounds like a racecar now
I'm told it sounds much tougher down the straight Seems like a good fit too .... no bangs or rattles so let's hope!!
Off to Huntley this weekend so I will soon know the time difference between the two in hillclimb guise.
Cheers

good to see you've got those teething problems sorted out quickly. Good to see another L series 1200 on the track now that mine's gone...

Thanks Mildman,
turn in seems fine and the extra 30 (ish?) kilos is not a problem. Went to 300lb springs and they seem fine. The front bar is probably too hard but I will wait until I drive it with decent tyres before I make any changes
Hey Datman,
thanks for the comment - tried hard to get it to look right! No times worth noting as I was running old/hard street tyres which after 14 laps were still not hot It was faster with these tyres than the A series and I am finding the braking time is now longer due to higher terminal speeds It will take a little while to adjust from the A series style to the L series but so far it looks like it will be fun
Cheers

Nice work!

How did you find the turn in with the added weight up front?
