this is a pretty old thread now.
by the way my ute has a ca20 in her and it's beautiful for cruising and it's not that slow but ca18de or the likes would be much better.

settle down beattie..lol
The ca18et is different to ca18det.

The ca18et is a single cam head version which is really ####...

i think he meant to write that and is not bagging out the ca18det...
we don't want to go all ninja on him....

Stupidist thing ive ever heard. SR's have been known to put rods and pistons through the block but CA blocks are tuff as. Cast iron blocks. And as for the 250hp figure. Wonder why my UNOPENED CA18DET has 312hp at the wheels???

Quote:
CA18ET is ok i guess, you can boost it to about 250hp max before pistons start to come through the block

My wrecked ute has a CA20 in it. Not sure how it goes coz it was damaged by the pevious owner in an accident. Yer personally i would look into other options NA Sr20 or ca18det. Heres a photo of the CA20 in my ute. Open in new window

CA18DE in a 1200 is still a burnout machine. Used to pull hard. But nothing like a DET

a 1200 with a CA18DET is like having a porn star girlfriend.
