I understand the SR impressive performance. But nowadays, ( not demeaning the SR at all) every Datsun meet I go there has to be a fleet of 510 Datsuns with SR20s in them.

Aside from the performance , which is proven , no need to corroborate it , I get nothing special from looking at it. I am more impressed with a A series or L series modified engine. Yes, the SR is an impresive engine, but is has become a daily thing to see.
I lumpy idling roaring sidedraftcrazy cammed A or L series brings that special smile I do not get from the SR.

You're messin with us, ... right? That's gotta be a Photoshop job. Same background, same wheels, right down to the lettering on the tyres in the same place, & I could have sworn that the black racer is a two door.

I have driven a lot of "fast cars" I have a HSV GTS VS with 200rwkw, its pretty fast but I just finished a non turbo sr20 conversion into the 1200 and it is a scary thing to drive.

I used to be into bikes.... Last one was a 1000cc sportsbike (FZR 1000).

Cost me $12K & used to run a 10 sec. 1/4 mile.
I never found a street car that could beat it.... GTR Skylines, Porches, WRX's...... everything.

Then I had an impromptu flying lessing over the bonnett of a 17 yr old's corolla.... Needless to say the missus put her foot down - No More Bikes .

The ONLY vehicle that I've found since then that's given that same "Holy $hit" feeling was a CA18det powered 1200 coupe belonging to an aquaintance.
I basically started my ute project straight after this experience...... Not long now

Like Matty says..... 600kg + CA18det = Fun

i remember my first ride in a sr20det 1600. was in cam mckinnon's cm510 and we met up at his work in the city for a blast around the traffic. i felt so stupid because i couldn't wipe this stupid grin off my face!!!

anything since that has claimed its been fast is usually just a dissappointment.

datsuns with nissan turbo twin cam motors are such a cheap and fast combo!
