Just as a follow up: Not being able to procure the bracket, I hit the scrap yard. I used a bracket from an 80's Nissan Sentra (front wheel drive) and just had to hammer the curves out of it. It doesn't allow for a lot of adjustment of the alternator, so you have to measure carefully and get the right V belt for it. (I ended up with a 32.5" belt.)

I'm still looking for the proper bracket, but the Sentra model works with just a slight hammer massage

BTW, Here's the compressor/alternator mounting bracket that came on the car. This thing is .250" (6.5mm) thick and weighed around 25 pounds (11.5kg) or so!

Right now, I am just trying to keep the 1200 on the road, but I will probably do a resto/upgrade later. If I restore it, the A/C would be a cool thing to have, so I want to hang on to everything.

I can probably make one, but the top adjuster bracket is what I am looking for. I found a pic here on the 1200 website.

Do you want to do some kind of trade?

I'm looking for what you have & don't need. And I have what you're looking for but I don't need.

If you want to get rid of that heavy crank pulley too, I could use that also. As well as any of the A/C bits you don't want.

I'm looking for a bracket/brackets for a standard 1200 alternator mounting.

My '72 Coupe has dealer installed air (which is shot to hell) so I want to remove the compressor to make room in the engine compartment. The aftermarket bracket is HUGE and is quite a piece of engineering, IMHO.

I can remove the compressor, but the large bracket is part of the alternator mounting, and it is quite an unruly beast.

Thanks!
