Quote: I wish my head was as clean as yours mperdue. Yeah a clean head doesn't do any good if you can't get it running. It's been a year since the rebuild and I still haven't even turned over the engine... Who knows maybe it's rust-locked now ???

I just bought an oval port head to fit to my A12 so I won't be needing my round port head or manifolds so I will pm you when I am finished with the round port manifold if you like?

I think I know what happened...
From Craigslist in Arizona
Free car available in Prescott, Arizona. Datsun B-210 1978. Engine Rebuilt in Maztlan, Mexico. Brand new pistons, rings and head. Head is not exact year match. It will require a modification available at deans machine shop for 200 us dollars. This modification of manifold will give this car full power and most likely many years of driving. Brakes new, tires new, rebuilt carb.....call robert if interested.

Thanks.

alright, popped the manifold off today, and the ports on the head are a perfect circle, whereas the ones on the intake are oval, and look to be taller. The gasket appears to be the oval one as well. It doesnt look as though it would leak, but obviously the car doesnt like it...how do I find a circle port manifold to fix this? I have checked to local wreckers, and the local parts guys, no good....anyone have one? The intake I have is stamped h72 if that matters.

I would just pop the valve cover check everything and check the manifolds as well before tearing the whole thing out. I also have a head and manifold lying around. Most common part to loose seems to be the thick washers that hold the intake and exhaust on , they're only on the bottom studs so people commonly leave them off and as they are special they get lost and folks use what ever is handy. Can't remember if there is a pic a part in Prescott but there must be , parts could be had there........I know 3 or 4 rally drivers there and can't picture them living in a town without a pic a part.
