Is ita three or four wire tps?
Three wire is referance voltage, main voltage & earth.
4 wire is all those but 1 wire tells the computor when the engine is at idle.(Mainly on auto cars)
To test a TPS properly you need a graphing multimeter. A normal multimeter dosnt read fine enough to pick up a small glitch in the in a potentiometer (TPS).
get a graphing multi metre, probe the referance voltage wire (5 volt wire) & very slowy open the throttle & the metre will pick up a glitch. (drop out)
Hope this helps
but probably not
Coops
this info is how test a TPS on all cars properly.

for that you would need a wiring diagram of your loom.
if you have one of them get a multimeter, put a probe in the right hole in the plug and check for voltage at the plug, next check that it has a true connection back to the computer by putting one probe of the mulitimeter on the correct terminal of the computer and the other probe in the hole where the terminal should be. do this with the engine running and the tps hooked up. with multi on "DC 20V" check for signal
next, hook the terminal on the computer back up to its rightful spot and take the tps plug off and put a probe on the terminal where the plug goes and a probe in the plug of the tps and check for voltage there.

do this with any other wires that the tps may have and try to find a fault, if everything is ok then u need a new tps.

had the same problem with my mates RB30DET. got everyting bolted in and wired up but it didnt start. after a bit of scrathcing ourselves and reading "The Age" (wiring diagram) we found the injectors didnt have power by doing the same procedure as i just mentioned...
