That $10,000 (That's Australian dollars) IS the DIY figure.

Plenty more than that if you pay a 'conversion specialist' to do it.

Changing engines over in a car is a lot more expensive than you would think...

Well I'll start this off then by saying I think the CA would be the better option. Depending on local laws the SR20DET iss illegal to install into a road registered vehicle the size of the 1200 ute however you can use a SR20 non turbo motor. As for prices it seems to be like 10g's universally for the minimum if you're paying someone to do it. As for the RB25 twin turbo it won't fit unless you want to make your ute look like a sports sedan inside tha cabin. On second thoughts, with the ute you couldn't really do that as there isn't enough room to mount the seat back.

sr for straight line .... ca if you want to turn corners .........

check the SEARCH box over there on the left, heaps and heaps and heaps of info on here ..... even entire threads already going about the cost of the conversion, where to get bits and whats involved

what ya's all reckon, a ca18det or sr20det and how much ya estimate for both engine and conversion? is it possible to put a rb25dett in a datsun 1200 ute??? is there enough room?
