The engine in your car is not an A10 engine as these engines had the distributor mounted right at the front of the engine, just above the oil pump & the altenator was mounted low on the manifold side of the engine.

If you have bored an A10 out to 76mm with A14 pistons then it should now displace 1071cc & with the short 59mm stroke, ir should rev well, but will be a bit short on torque & the original gearbox will be able to handle it quite OK. The A10 is a graet engine, but the later engines were improvements on this design & unless one was racing in a 1 litre class, or building a restoration, most people go for the 1200 or later A12/ A14/ A15 upgrade, which is what has already happened in your car.

As has already been said, check the engine number prefix to determine just what engine that you really do have.

hahaha, yeah I haven't got around to installing the wiper res & motor, but its on my list to do.

The engine is the A10 with a hi flo carby.

I have a A10 board to 1400cc w/ flat top pistons new valves and lumpy cams sitting in my backyard. That is also on my list to do.

Should I upgrade the gear box at the same time? any recommanded?

Cheers

I agree.
Its a very tidy litle car that really looks nice, but then, KB10's always do.
That Sunshine white looks llike a very popular colour as it seems to outnumber any other colour on KB10's by a very wide margin.

Look after it well & it will look after you.
