When I spoke to SNewing he said there is another 30-40hp possible with further development, headwork and testing but he had got what he needed which was a realiable and big midrange engine with 1.9 liters. Not sure he used Ti rods and valves but thats what they use in the UK SR setups not to mention now Ti camshafts!$$!
He supposedly only raced a few rounds as he was very busy yet he won quite convincingbly over SR20DE 1600 of Rodrigez and other well setup SR cars by taking the title from quite behind in points. He swept through the last round to take it. The CA is totally underrated in NA setups. Even toyota drifters use the CA over the 4age when boosted. The 20v version of the 4age is a beast but from factory but roller cammed sr20ve destroys it as they are equal in weight.

It's a 1.8 liter engine, which is good for so much power. Plus it is a 4-valve head, which is good for more. A lot more than say the L18.

Hay sooty, the super charger will be a long term thing, maybe a year or two. I am not keen on a turbo because to me its the easy way out and its been DONE TO DEATH. I am up for the challange and the biggest issue is I want to be different. Rego and insurance arnt big issues and I am not keen on pro racing, just fun on weekends at the drag strip or local track. Cheers for the interest and watch this space for Power figures in a few months.

I'll look forward to it mate. They are a very underated motor in aspirated form. If I ever get the opportunity, and budget, to start another Datsun project I will be fitting a high compression, cammed CA18DE with individual throttle bodies into it.
