Never had a problem before. Just turn the throttle to full and push it back in the little hole allowing the cable to go into the slot.

is it like the later ones with the little lead cylinder at the end of the wire that goes into the hole in the arm that has the groove the cable runs in, or that sort of thing, i often use needle nose pliers to grip the wire and wiggle the lead retainer out.

Maybe disconnect it from the pedal first to gain a little extra slack?

Is there a trick or a suggested method for removing and re-installing the throttle cable on a std 1200 with Hitachi carb? (Carb is on the motor)

I removed it and got it reinstalled, but it was about the most difficult part of pulling and installing the drivetrain!

I am replacing the carb fairly soon, so I just bent the snot out of the little arm with the slot in it, but there has to be a better way of doing this.

Any tips or advice appreciated!
