I think it has worked out OK - last test will be fitment in the engine bay.

Yeah it gets even harder to describe when both A series motors I have aren't the original motors - which means the brackets could be modified or changed. But judging by the shiny metal under the A14 Sunny brackets I think there were close to factory fitted.

the original problem was that the engine had sunny (b310) brackets on it.the distance between the uprights on the sunny is greater
than late model utes/120y.you're correct in using the 120y dizzy side bracket, but you need to get 1200/120y engine rubbers,as the sunny
ones you're trying to use have a 10 mm stud size on the bottom, not the eight mm sizes from the 120y.that engine rubber you modified probably wont last too long the way it is at the moment.

Funnily enought the "120Y" dizzy mount I have used has the two holes in the bracket for the M8 engine mount bolt and the little 'dimple' thing as well.

I haven't been out in the garage tonight...got home late - but it does all seem to fit.

Interesting. I have never actually payed attention to a b310's brackets so I was only guessing. Now looking at your pics, it looks like the b310 manifold side bracket actually does have the slope, but its there for the exhaust manifold. Too many different mounts for me

I'll go have a look at another Sunny to confirm what you say Phunk - but here are some photos 'as is' after being pulled from a Sunny wagon.

I can clearly see in hindsight that the dizzy side bracket that was on the A14 when I bought it as part of the wagon was longer than the bracket I used instead - which was of a late A12 which was in the blue coupe when I bought it.

As both the engine in the 1200 and the engine in the Sunny were not the standard engines - I screwed if I know what mount is which.

Alll I know is that when I exchanged the late A12 dizzy bracket for the Sunny bracket it fit. Every nut is only on about a half a turn at the moment so all looks wonky.

I'll tighten it up tomorrow and see if it does fit straight but by eye in the flesh it seems like the right fit.

I'll try and remember to take a pic of the sunny bracket and 120Y bracket (dizzy) side by side.

All the comments have been much appreciated as always - gotta love the Datto community.

Mildman the pic I posted is of a dizzy side mount from a 1200 early A12.
What b310gx has written about the mounts being sunny b310 does explain a lot of things. Now knowing that the b310 mounts are different, it is clearly visible that the metal engine mount bracket you have on the manifold side in the first 2 pics, is actually a b310 dizzy side bracket. You can clearly see how the top of the bracket that is closest to the engine actually slopes downwards to the right. This is what I describes before in the 120y mount to allow room for the fuel pump.
I am not sure if the dimensions of this mount actually suit the crossmembers spacing when used on the manifold side of the engine. The correct 120y manifold side bracket will look like the one you have used on the manifold side but it might have different spacing.

rubber mount in the first and second pics is upside down and for the other side. The mount studs are not central and are offset.

Ben,

I'm not sure what kind of mounts the A15 had on it, but they were still attached to the engine when I sold it!!

But, I know they did fit up perfectly.

Maybe try pm'ing toddat1200, I think he was the guy that bought the engine from me. He may be able to take some pics for you to give you a better idea.

from memory it places the engine on a slight angle left to right, leaning slightly to the dizzy side doing this (it did in the ute)

Just had another look at the photos. That dizzy side mount is not sitting parallel to the upright. Change it to the mount Phunk suggested and it looks like it will fall together.
