The A14 with a T25 and a good efi setup will be plenty of fun.

The one I've got is pretty amusing

A set of ACL pulsar turbo pistons in the A14 will drop the comp enough, and they are tougher.

A mild cam will help airflow to get the turbo onto boost quicker and grant you more top end. You need less boost to make the same power as a stock cam.

If it's put together right I'd say upto 200rwhp isn't out of the ball park

how much will that cost roughly?

also the diff in it atm i was told is a "rare bluebird.....3.7:1 diff"

yeah good point therye tough enough to the point you loose traction but not for slicks and LSD's.

I think part of the reason the 165 ute diffs hold up is because the drive wheel usually spins so much. I'd say an LSD center and sticky tyres might kill it pretty quick with turbo power.

200 at the tyres would be a full house mean mother of an A14, perhaps in the upper limits of the power capabillties.

I just remapped the ecu on mine the other day with a bit more of a road tune, more aggressive timing map. althoug kept at about 10-11 psi. As a result of the power increase I have today just destroyed a gearbox( 3rd gear has no teeth left) It was in gear accelleration, with very gentle changes. 56A box. I fortunately had a spare, although that little experience tells me I need something alot tougher.

got to love a gearbox you can hold in one hand though.

i have a bluebird diff in atm will that hold?, what sort of gear box would i have to go with? i just put the 56a 5 speed box in lol.

I would think the diff will hold up, but a 56A five speed behind a boosted A14 probably will not.

that would be insane, my fj20 only makes 160rwhp, and weighs about 100kg more

the H165 is seriously tough hey, were running it with my brohters SRturbo ute and its holding up alright and were thrashing the diff eg spinning through 3rd gear, it is starting to moan though hahaha. im keeping the H165 in my NA sr. also the weak point in the diff is the axles the centres tend to hold up. And the torque of the turbo SR is alot more than you would expect from the A series so you shoudnt have a problem.
