so i brought the car on tuesday is posh as and now i have to wait 3weeks until i get my licence but yeah just lettin everyone no that i just brought my first datto and am very happy with it

checked it out again last night and took it for a spin goes heapz good found out it also has 32/36 webbers and it goes very nice..talking prices with the owner today so should have it by nxt week (fingers crossed).thanks for the feed back guys.feel free to keep posting more feed back

just a lever on the inside of the tailgate that when you turn it can push or pull two rods connected to it which come out holes drilled in the sides of the tailgate that go in holes in the body near the ones in the tailgate

cut down HQ-WB mechanism I think. I've also seen it done with bits of rope back to the cab...
edit: wetdriftdude got in before me... Also the rear seat mechanism in a 120Y wagon/pvan looked like it would work, basically anything that can be turned to make pins go from the sides of the tailgate into the back of the ute
