A downdraught and extractors and pipes will give you slightly more go although I think it will just "sound" better rather than "go" better(from experience). If you want a cheap easy upgrade I'd just drop an A14 (it will bolt straight in no mods at all) 1&3/4 or 2" pipes with extractors. See how you like it first and then think about a carbie . It's just too hard to get any real go out of an A12

I put a 2" exhaust on with twin SU's big difference A15 tho but that doesn't matter.
Just bought a single 32/36 hoping for a big difference-Expecting to run mid 14's maybe.

I would say carby first. thats what i did with my 1000(A12). I put a 34DHS(v simmiler to 32/36) on the wags and could tell a definate power increase. Then i had the exhaust(2") and extarcters done and noticed only a small increase on top of that!

do the exhaust first definatley! give the carby a bit of carby cleaner and a new filter and it should b good enough.

u can do the carby after the exhaust by all means

G'day all, I would like to know how much would my stock A12 motor benefit with a single downdraught 32/36 weber carby????
(ie more power/pickup).
Would It be better to do this or upgrade the exhaust from its original pee shooter system to a bigger 1 3/4- 2 inch sports system, using the original carby.

Just want to know what to do as I would like more pickup from the motor.
Has to be one or the other.
