There should be two plugs up under the dash already, one female and one male, these go into the tacho. The tacho goes into the loop of the coil from the ignition i think. There was discussion on this only the other day.

oh ok, well that puts my theory out the window - so i should be looking for a single wire only then.

That means I have a stray cable/plug floating around that I dont know where it goes - maybe its not required.

Dazed & confused.

Hello all

Does anyone know how to coorectly install the last part of a tacho - the cord into the distributor (i assume this is where it goes???)

the motor is an FJ20 but my confusion is that I have one stray cable which I have traced back to the tacho but have had conflicting information as to where it goes.

Can anyone help?
