No you do not have to put the unleaded filler thing in. Kev himself told me this and has his mod plater and engineers number if you wont to find out more information. The mod plater wanted this to mod plate my brothers car but Kev gave me a number for our mod plater to call and be informed od the new regulations.

I think it was 50 bucks. And no, you dont have to fit an UNLEADED filler neck because LEADED fuel is NO LONGER available in australia. That said, check with your local motor vehicle registery to get it in black and white, no one likes a GRAY area.

Thanks for the photo. So does it just connect up to the old rubber hose at the back of the 1200 filler neck? What was it worth?

And I'll throw this question up to all...does anyone know if you still need to fit an unleaded restrictor flap in your filler neck, now that you can't buy Super petrol?

Yer dont think he does or wants to do full conversions anymore. You will have to talk to Kev bout it. But he will guide you through the process of doing it yourself and he will do a few bits and pieces such as wiring looms, brake brackets, fuel filler pipe for r31 tank etc. and he is willing to supply you with a ####load of information.

O.k - Was talking to Kev on the weekend.......
He said that he's getting some reports saying that he's not doing conversions anymore.
THAT IS DEFINITELY NOT THE CASE.

The only thing that Kev's trying to cut back on is the full drive in, drive out conversion.
For those of you who've done this, you know how much work's involved & (being the kind of bloke he is) he was charging nowhere near enough. Especially when you consider what mobs like Tokyo toys etc charge for this sort of stuff.

THE OFFICIAL STORY - Is that Kev's concentrating on providing all the seperate conversion bits & pieces. ie/ Fuel filler extensions, Gearbox & cross-members, SR20 brake kits, wiring harnesses etc, etc, etc.

He'll provide you the bits you need along with detailed advice on how to go about it.
This advice has saved me countless hours & $$$ on my conversion.

Yeah a pic would be great. I've bought a couple of things off Kev in the past for my conversion and mounted the R31 tank according to his instructions, but he never mentioned he was making up these pipes. He just told me to get the exhaust shop to do it when they bend up the exhaust. What are they worth roughly?
I actually grabbed the filler neck from an R31 at the wreckers and was going to try modifying it to the 1200 filler panel...but Kev's pipe would no doubt be a much simpler solution.

Its a piece of exhaust pipe bent up to go from your origional fuel filler to the filler on the R31 tank. I have purchased one from Kev, all I need now is the tank and a assembled & running CA18. I will sort out a picture ASAP.

Steveo, I noticed your comment about Kev doing a fuel filler pipe for the R31 tank conversion. Do you have any further info on this like a picture or cost. Does it have the unleaded flap built in? I've got my R31 tank mounted but no pipe to connect it to the fuel filler area so this is probably exactly what I need.

I had a little chat to kev while I was down in brizzy a week or 2 ago. He is turning away from doing full conversion but will still continue to make and supply all the necessary parts to perform the conversions. But you would have to chat to the man himself, maybe he will do a conversion for you, IF YOU ARE REAL NICE
