The R160 differential was not used by Datsun 1200s. So you might have the best succeeds by asking a general Datsun forum like OzDat. That is probably the largest Datsun community in the world.

The R160 diff was fitted to the 510 and 610 sedans as well as 610 and 710 SSS coupes.

The most likely source for the diff you have is from a Subaru, like this one.

I have read through a few threds on this topic, but it seems the more I read, the more confused I get

I am trying to find out all I can on the R160 diff.

Q: what models had the L.S.D on the rear
Q: what ratios (standard) did the L.S.D come in.
Q: are the C.V,s the loubro sliding type.

Dont know how to attach a photo, but I have a photo of the silver foil sticker that is attached to the rear of the diff housing, it reads Fuji Heavy industries, L.S.D gear ratio 3.7, part number 722011000.
