It really depends on what rubber you're running mate. A big skid on street tyres won't do much more than gee up the punters on the hill. Drag radials another kettle of fish all together.

If you're just running your normal tyres a small skid in first will be more than adequate.

n_dorphin, if its only for a start line burnout you only need to warm the tyres not melt half the tread away. just do it in first and sit there for a bit. i know itd be tempting to put ona show like MRHELI but you dont need to thats why they have burnout comps

with the ####house A14 i just stay in 1st gear(trying to blow something hopefully) smokes the tyres pretty hard even with the locker

Start in second and change to third. Have gone to fourth but generally stay in third.

yeah 2nd to 3rd usually, depends what diff setup you have. it takes a fair bit more to turn the tires now that ive got a r31 minispool. cant wait to get some donuts going with the locker.

have fun burning that rubber
