replacing valve stem seals maybe.
also regrinding the valve seat (on the back of the valve and on the head.

Ok, perhaps u could power brush the whole head, polish the intake ports, grind valves & check the head for warping.

Then, follow the normal procedures of replacing all the gaskets. If u have the time, port matching the head and intake manifold will do good.

wanting to get a head re-built

whats typical cost for simple re-build? what options are available? (not performance but just replacing possibly worn parts)

is it worth attempting myself?

anything to be weary of if getting it done?
