you could also make do with a weber adapter plate for $40 if you have no luck with a cannon manifold

with the proper emulsion tubes and jets seems to be the best carby.( aside from twin sides ) bought it already.

nam mate not that unresponsive just a bit lagging for the first second or two, these carbs also come off the 3.0V6 capri by the way, if you select smaller idle jets, main jets, emulsions and some larger air correctors you will have no problems. I found it easier to tune by driving about 100km to a different town checking the exhaust tip for carbon build up, if there was excess I would clean the tip, then adjust the idle mixture screws in a bit or remove the idle jets and go down a step or two until I was happy after numerous long distance cruises, that makes the main jet tuning a lot easier since theres only main jets to worry about. And when you think you are close to perfect, take it down to a dyno tuners shop and have it run and the exhaust gas analysed

Saw a 120y with an L18 & a 38 weber at Carby Services a while back, it was in to try & get the tune up correct. When I next went back I asked how it turned out, their verdict was it needed a 32/36 dgv instead. These 38 webers seem to come from the xf falcon, which has a 4.1 litre engine, so getting the right idle signal from even a 2 litre engine would be pushing it.the 32/36 is usually sourced from a 2 litre escort or cortina, so this should suit that part down low. & who needs better power from 5000 onwards,if you're stuck in traffic & just need a touch of torque to keep up with the car ahead, before some clown dives in front of you because you left a gap.

mate i had one on my stock l20b with ported head a while ago, i used a jet from a gemini secondary as the primary from memory and a bluebird secondary, thats all i changed and it ran great. Would be sooo much better than a stock carby and more airflow than 32/36 but yes it wasnt overly responsive down low

Yep I have one on my A15 street motor, works great just a bit compromised on low speed smoothness, but mid range and top end performance is fantastic

I tried a 38 on my a14 and made nice power but i could not get it sorted at low engin speed, turn out the carb was a bit worn at the shafts, just look out for that!
