Its the 180b crossmember that bolts in, Im not sure on other mods but you'd be able to build and install a mean L-series for your 120y with 3k.

Go the L-series, none of this dinosaur pushrod crap

my first thought was an a15 as it drops in easy, but i havent bin able to find one in my area, i had a 200b a while ago wit worked l20b with extracors, went pretty good but im after bit more power than wat it had, i was thinking of puttin the motor in myself wen i get it but atm ill have like one day a week to work on it. But if i can find an a15 with gearbox i think thats the way ill go

how about l series pigdog... arent they cheaper then a15's?

id go a15 but for 3 k, a nice engenieered l series could be do able, especially if you have a b210... change crossmember and almost bolt in.

Spend a grand on tools, buy an A15 and put it in yourself....pretty easy.

Here's my website about doing exactly that.

im soon to uprgrade the old a12 auto in my 120y fastback and wanted opinions on what motor to get, i have looked throught the tech section but id like to know wat would be the most power for money without too much stuffing around, since i dnt have much experience and time ill be getting a mechanic to put the new engine in etc, im looking to pay around 3 grand for the motor and gearbox, i want to kno what motor would be the best to get in this price range and if any one has anything in qld i might be interested.
thanks
