do the 1400 utes use the same "B120" chassis designation??

or were they given a new chassis pre-fix at some stage?

I find it funny that you're "a Datsun" fan and you're from "RustenBurg" , seriously no offence meant I just think its one of those funny coincedences

ja! may they live for a long time to come. but as you say about the lights, its personal taste but still possible to fit the old lights. but the only way the japanese got this ute breaking point is to have the body rusted up

The Bakkie Utes have been well known to many members of this site for several years & there have been many discussions about them.

The raised roof & the long bed are practical considerations, but don't look as 'cute' as the regular models. There are many, like me, who would regard the square headlights as being a styling step backwards, but that's just a personal thing.
The new interiors, the A14 & 5 speed are a definite bonus though.

Hail the Bakkie, long may she be produced.

ok that i know. and also that the newer model for the 1400 is in place and still a rear wheel drive. and that the best place to get parts is in pretoria. see im from rustenburg and i was wondering if the rest of the work is as lucky as us to have them. but seems like the dont know about us. to those who is not in sa. check out this site www.speednsound.co.za and see what we are capable of with a ute.

Heya mate. i'm from south africa and about the ute thing your dead on the mark. the original ute was discontinued about a decade ago in most parts of the world but in south africa its still pretty much very popular. i guess our japanese friends knew what they were doing when they designed it. in your case there are two options. visit SA buy a ute (Bakkie to us) drive it over here 4 awhile and have her shipped over back to where you're from. or search endlessly for a broken down ute and restore her to factory perfection. both are time consuming but worthit in the end. BEST OF LUCK TO YA. CHEERS!!!

according to what i have found, the only place that the datstun ute was continued up to now was in south africa. this is now known as as a 1400 champ and also the 1400 standard ute. between the two, is no difference actually, just extras. but what newer models of this little ute are where? and what places makes aftermarket kits for them. please attach a web link he possible.
