Hey also what the hell is this part???

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/DATSUN-1200-UT ... ViewItem#ebayphotohosting

At first i thought it was the chrome front bumper but it doesn't wrap around on the ends. So what is it and where does it go?

Yeah i can only seem to get a hold of the newer grilles like i said. Also i plan to respray my ute yellow and i reckon the black grille insert looks a lot better than the silver.

So what you said is that it will fit onto it but is just attached differently???

No, the grilles are not directly interchangeable, but yes, you can use the later grillr in an early 1200. The difference seems to be in the little lugs that the grille attaches to along the top of the RSP. The coupe & later utes use a longer mounting lug to reach forward to meet the grille, but what's the problem with geting a real grille.

The original 1200 ute grille was a cheaper version of the car one & these car grilles look very good, unless you leave off the central badge, then they look ummmm, .... incomplete.

Hey guys just wondering if anyone knows wether all ute front grills are generic and interchangeable between all year models?

I have an older model and i can only seem to get my hands on newer year models like late 70's and early 80's.

I don't see how there could be much difference but thought i would check first.

Cheers
