When my coupe was still driven on the road it would run hot anytime the motor was turning more than 4000 rpm. Bigger radiator cured this. Since our summers here hit 45 degrees all the time that of course contributed to the dilema.

is it still the a10? not hard to fit a temp guage, just depends if you want to use stock guage as well. if you have a heater return metal t iece, you can adapt it to mount the afteramrket one too. then run both.

my temp guage ran a little hotter but so did the motor, ended up bieng a ddge clutch fan.

I wouldnt think so how would you clean it out if it was. Really cleaned the head out using a compressor bit connected up to the hose and the radiator is a tripple core and has just been recored. Its not the original radiator and sits back a little bit further a mate said air could be getting past it causing it to heat up. How hard is it to put in an after market water temp gauge?

unleaded fuel and advanced timing both increase the temp.

Being an old B10, could be cooked temp sender. Try replacing it (although they can cause trouble to replace, if it's the same one that was fitted at the factory.

Normally a bad radiator is the cause. Most are clogged, even though they appear to flow ok when you do the garden hose flow test.

Could the engine block's water galleries be blocked?

Hey just wondering what temp other peoples dats run at. I have a 1000 and the original temp gauge runs a bit above half seems a bit hot? i flushed the head put a new thermostat+housing recored triple core radiator ect. Could my gauge be out or? Does advancing the timing cause it to run hotter.
Cheers
