my mate has a ca18de in a 1000 two door ill see him and get some pics.
yes it does fit under the bonnet but a whole new tunnel had to be made is my understanding.
heres a pic from the outside anyway, just as an appetiser

NA 12A should be fine for engineering, and then just turbo her later. Would be a real weapon.

There was one for sale on eBay a while back. The engine was solid mounted and the bonnet shut over it fine. Couldn't be road registered though.

leigh (LAGWAGON) dummie fitted a CA to his 1000. check his album for pics from memory they dont fit under the standard bonnet.
