The 280ZX set-up on my coupe uses the 280ZX control arm, radius rod , ball joints , clipers and a adjustable spring perch.

The cross memeber is drilled for and welded to accomadate a spherical bearing vs. normal bushing. Radius rods are standard but new sway bar end links have been fabricated. Also the claipers needed to be milled so they would fit inside a 13' rim (requirement for class I race).

little spacer ring that goes in the bottom of the strut to locate it on the steering arm properly, used with r31 s12 bluebird and i assume 280zx struts as they have a bigger hole at the bottom of the strut

if removes the sheer load from teh 2 bolts holding the strut to the steering arm

15s over a 330mm brake setup...maybe when the caliper isnt there, you would only have about 330 mm or room inside a 15
i know the 290s on the rear of mine only just fit. might fit 300 ish if the disc is really offset and the caliper is really hugging the disc

also have a look at what the 1600 balljoints are like, and control arms as well...might be able to get the lower arms in or the balljoint might go onto 180b control arms which some how go in

advantages of 280zx over stanza, heaps more travel, more wheel clearance, bigger brakes

dissadvantages, have to change spring perch, dont have as much camber, need sheer load spacer???

Is it? Fark! Maybe there is some way to do it. I'll have to grab a z steering arm when im theiving your 260c hubs and see if i can make it work somehow.

I can fit 15's over the wilwood setup according to the blokes who make it, he reckons some 14's fit too, thats not coming until its atleast done a few years racing and I decide to build the L24 turbs.

17's are gay.

Heres a pic of a stanza strut,

smaller taper then....gay

what would you do with 330mm discs on a 1200? 17s just arent cool

apparently you can get 280x30mm discs and 4 piston sumitomo calipers on 200b struts

Yeah the same as the R31 struts, I think bluey/r31/280zx are all very similar.

As for taper Im not sure, Ive just done a bit of crossreferencing and early 1600 (p510) are the same balljoint as a 240/260/280. I have some 1600 suspensio parts at the shed, I can look how the taper differs.

Also there are some real good upgrades for the 280zx struts from the US. For about $650 delivered to my door I can have 330x30mm Wilwood rotors with alloy hats, 4spot dynalite wilwood calipers and all mounting bits etc.

ah so they are sorta like r31 struts? more wheel clearance but less camber....unless you look at the front of my ute

different taper how, bigger or smaller

other good thing about them is that they have 270mm disc standard

EDIT, warmed L series...you will need r32 brakes
