I'm stripping my 63a gearbox for a rebuild, but I've struck a hitch. I can't remove the clip on the main shaft bearing in the centre housing, because it sits in a recess too small to allow it to come off. and I can't tap the shaft and bearing down far enough for the clip to clear the recess, because the other gears on the mainshaft jamb agains the gears on the cluster. And I can't remove the cluster till I get the main shaft out.
Does anyone have a workshop manual for even an L series 63 box that might shed some light of how to get around this quandry?
