huge difference on weather its a coupe or two door or four door... four door are still pretty popular but the coupes and two door should fetch good prices

yeh Lachie that's one of my major concerns (part of the reason why I want a granny shell) but I'm a sucker for shiny paint trb012 the plan is to use it as a daily til the end of the year when the rego on the GZE car runs out then put the engine and box in the granny car. Just the engine and box though, keep stock suspension, brakes and diff so I can run 12" wheels for mad sleeper action

I reckon a lot of it will come down to whether the person knows that they are getting harder to come by (especially good ones) or if they still see them as just an old datto.
I reckon $1200 is alright for the granny one with the rego, if you're super lucky you might be able to find some guards the same colour somewhere in better condition.
I'd be careful about the restored one as it all depends on how "restored" it is. eg massive cover up of rust, bog and other nasty things or actually a proper respray.

yeah I was thinkin the restored one would be worth about $3k. I can get the granny car for $1200, you reckon thats fair considering there's $500 worth of rego alone...

With the 120y not being the most popular of dato's i wouldnt expect you would pay much more that 3 grand for each of them mate but as we both know they great little cars and with them being not as popular theres allways a better chance of finding a good 1

I'm looking at a couple of 120Ys at the moment and I'm wondering what other people consider to be "market values". The first one is an original '78 auto granny car, no rust but paint is a bit faded and it has stone chips (its pale yellow). Both front guards have dents but the rest is very straight. Interior is brown but in great condition. original 12" wheels and hubcaps, new tyres 12months rego.
The second one I just found this arvo and I left a note on it so I'm waiting for a reply or I'll go back tommow. I'm not sure if its restored, its got its original number plates, but the paint looks too fresh (120Y orange colour) I would say its a home spray job but not a bad one. Interior is black and good (although chopped for stereo). It has 13" hotwires and good tyres, and all the underside of the car appears freshly painted black. I will assume the engine is good condition stock a12/a14. Assume no rego but looks like it would pass easy.
What would you consider reasonable prices for these cars, considering what other 120Ys go for?
Any commenst appreciated
