Start with a service. The usual - New points, condensor, plugs, leads, Rotor and cap (if needed) oil and filtler change, air and fuel filters as well. I may have missed something but you get the point. Beef up the ignition a bit by putting in a better ignition coil.

Then get a proper tune up, not just old mate down the road with a screw driver and a good ear a proper tune up on an exhaust analiser or a dyno.

That might keep you happy and with in budget.

If you have some more cash then put off the tune up until you fit a 32/36 weber, extractors and a good sports exhaust. Once you fit that stuff then get the tune up.

You can go as far as fitting electronic ignition as well but thats about it without opening up the engine and costing lots more fun tickets

hey guys i have a 1200 ute, just looking to tickle up how she runs a bit. which is the best and cheepest way of doing it. with not huge costs? thanks
