Does anyone know if the rear axle will fit nice under a 1200/120y...is it longer? would need to use flareS? the ae86 diff is pretty strong and takes lots of abuse...would be a good swap...peace...

H165's came in the 1200 pickup trucks that are plentiful in australia. I'm not sure what else they came in.

Here's what it says: Quote:
"The AE86 differential is strong, and bolts into the Datsun 1200."
It should say: Quote:
"The AE86 rear live axle assembly is strong, and bolts into the Datsun 1200."

As I understand it the AE86 LSD has to be machined but can be made to fit an H165B.

The axles in the b310 are too small. I'm pretty sure the h165 has bigger axle splines to suit the AE86 diff carrier.

I'm glad someone updated the tech section with the AE86 diff info.

I believe that an early ae86 LSD carrier will work in an H165 pumpkin, not an h150 from a B310. I think a spacer is required for the ring gear. There is an earlier post somewhere suggesting this and I think i confirmed it with some research.
It sounds like something pioneered in Japan. H165's were not available in the states, though they came int he ute and seem to be plentiful in Australia. Ae86's are hard to find in AUS, so no one here has tried it that I know of.

yes.. i am curious also

maybe not the whole axle, just the diff itself,

or maybe can use back our H155 housing from B310 and just bolt in the LSD itself...

is it workable?
