A friend ralled the EXA with the E series motor, and the NA version of the head was rubbish, but the turbo head was aparently well designed. For a rally car, he said it was average, and he had difficult extracting any power out of it since he was limited in its mods. (It was the NA version not turboed)

Fix the dizzy with a crank angle sensor

Def worth a go, i had an et turbo couple of years back, stock motor, t28, front mount, 2.5" exaust, microtech, extra injector etc and it realed 130rwkw @ 19psi, cheap power if you ask me! A series box will hate it! On a side note i guess you could hole saw the fire wall for dissy clearance and just resses it back?

yeah i wouldnt know about fitting the engine in

i have just built a megasquirt computer but havent had the chance to put it in the car yet, it should be good for the conversion

or if you keep the dizzy i suppose you could use the standard e15 computer

i was reaserching this conversion once, i think its definately worth a shot

i never went through with it as i was dissapointed at the factory power figures that the e15et achieved

would love to see someone do it and see how it goes

I have an e15et block in the shed and 2 holes don't exist on the block to match the bellhousing.

I might post a pic if I get a chance.

Motor mounts will have to be completely fabricated.

The left side should be no problems because you could use the mounts on the block that are normally for the AC compressor.

BUT on the right side, you would have to make something up using the smaller studs that attach the oil pump or similar.

...I'll get some pics.

Another thing is Dizzy. It will stick through your firewall so something should be done about that.

Also, the rear thermostat housing is next to the dizzy so would be very close to the firewall, but should clear if you're carefull.

so the bellhousing lines up with the exception of the one bolt, but as far as the motor mounts? I thought that 1200rc had an A-15 fuel injected and tt'ed, not the e15et.

You are asking about an unusual swap. No one here has done it, except stirlingmac I think and it was a long time ago.

It doesn't fit our transmissions but can be adapted.

they do actually fit the A series gearbox bellhousing, but 1 hole doesn't line up. Its been discussed many times. you should be able to find a few threads if you search hard enough
