The Datsun engines in TSA racing were typically under 1300c, a bored out A12. Mainly they need the right cam and valve springs to do 10,000 rpm.

I pushed my stock 120y to 6000 rpm daily without any probs haha it hit 7000 rpm twice. They were both un-intensional on wet grass. It still sounded like it wanted to rev further though haha

I've always said that my old wagon had a speed cut of 6600rpm in 4th.

A few months after the aforementioned feat, the A12 was smokin' more than cheech and chong.

So maybe 6600rpm is not a sustainable or safe revlimit.

I have heard of A12s pulling 11,000rpm down bathurst's conrod straight in the 70s.

yeh i am goin to start with elec dizzy then cams, pistons carbs etc and see how it goes

Safe revving for stock unbalanced A12 is 6000 to 6500rpm as mentioned.
Mine is a GX and I also rev it max 6000rpm.
It makes alot of noise at these revs and a little vibration which I think is normal for a unbalanced engine. I have noticed an improvement with the removal of the permanent blade fan and fitment of electric fan.

Do improvements as mentioned to get better power.
Electronic ignition is something I would put top on my list. Easier starting, better fuel economy and smoother idle.

You need to find out why its vibrating and fix it before you go doing all that other "hot up" stuff.
