What sort of flare/bead does your tool make Ange?

something like that. as long as it gives you the correct flare.

that one looks like it gives you the trumpet style flare for brake lines.

you need something to make your fuel line look like the end of a barb fitting.

i used a cheap flaring tool. it did the job.

havent had a problem in nearly 2 years.

i would reccomend flaring.

i can guarantee that if you use the right clamps it will not leak weather there is a flare or not. I have no flares on a few of my fuel line ends and they are no worries. i'm not saying its a waste of time flaring but i have not found it necessary in my experience with both SR and CA turbo motors. the base preasure is 28psi (i think) and i think it raises 1psi per psi of boost so my lines have seen 46 psi with no worries.

i just rang an enzed about one of those tools and he ways saying for the cost of the tool and the amount of times you would use it in a hobby environment, it wouldn't be worth the purchase, and they can do the whole car for me for $50 for those flares. $5 each end isn't bad.

I look into it a bit further - haven't heard back from the shop in Oakleigh yet either...

if its just round with no flare no matter how tight you turn that hose clamp you can usually still spin the hose on the fuel line... and if you can do that it is surely going to leak at some stage

and the tighter you do them up the sooner the hose cracks up and leaks as well

i guesstimated the length of metal fuel line i needed when i bought mine and got them to flare the ends when i bought it... before i started bending and getting it stuck under the car

plumbers do have the best tools.. i had a plumber do those flared ends for me... any houses being built in the area where you might find a handy plumber?

hmm....you don't think EFI hose clamps are going to be enough Mike?

would definatley be flaring it one way or another, dont just put it on straight tube

you might not be driving it long before it burns to the ground......
