ok so the vn v6 ones sound like the best bet at this stage. I'm also trying to get hold of some 280zx struts at the moment but will have to see how it pans out.
Also, slighty different. but is there a reaon why people dont adapt brakes to 1200 struts with an adapter plate of something. Its seems the cost effective option as i obviously already have the bottom arms and struts etc. Is it just insert availability?

just to add my 2 cents, ive got a set of datto 240k struts and brakes on one of my 120y's, they stop real good. My point is, I managed to fit some 70's toyota corolla 13's over them by using a 5 mm spacer plate. Maybe there is some datto 13's that will fit if you want hub caps, other wise there is heap of these toyota ones. Can take a pic if you like. But datsun sunny 13's wouldnt fit as I tried them, the toyota ones fit only by mms.

Would require a bit of messing around, but there are plenty of smaller 240-260 vented rotors with 40-50mm height and 20-22mm thickness. Just need to make up some offset caliper brackets, and the smaller nonv8, non-turbo calipers could be made to fit under 13 inch wheels.
Talk to Dattoman1000, he's got an ultimate twin spot (maybe 4 spot) 13 inch package, that he puts together.

I found there are two diameters of lat emodel commodore calipers.
VN v6 seemes to fit on a smaller disc, and should be a good starting point. Finding smaller diameter verada disks could be a bit tricky, but certainly not impossible. I have examples of both sorts of commodore calipers, but it would take me a couple of weeks to measure them up.
Buuutt.
The VN-V6 suits a 270mm x 22mm rotor. The VL Turbo/VN V8 suits a 290 x 22 mm disc.
KR/KS/KE/KF/KL(not 4wd) Verada = 276 x 24mm
So if you can find a 270mm with 22-24mm thickness and 45mm height.
It'll all be apples. I'll have a look through the DBA catalogue.

Were the VK calipers the same as all calipers up to vp or something? Aren't there single pots the same and then the changed to te flexy twin pot ones? Also do you know what audi disc's were used?
Cheers Nick

I used to run the 180b strut with a set of Audi 10" ventilated discs and VK commodore calipers this setup only required a 3mm spacer between the caliper and the strut to give the correct pad offset to wear correctly ran this quite effectively for a while still have the discs attached to the 180B hubs no wheel bearings though and the spacers can be some high tensile washers if need be all the disc required was a redrill of its bolt pattern as i think it was 4 x 100 ??? to 4 x 114.3 mm as the disc had the correct offset for the pad caliper etc it fits under 13" rims easy.Stewart Wilkins used to sell this kit many years ago.

the commo caliper and magna rotor will fit under 14" mags easy
but the normal low offset commodore calipers with a 260ish mm disc should fit under 13" mags pretty easy and may fit under certain steel rims

I have been offered some 180B struts and I had a search looking for bolt brake options. I found the commodore/verada disc combo which looks like a good option should i choose to stick with 15's (274mm disc), but i'm thinking i might change to 13's and would like to know if there is a bolt on option for these struts that will clear 13's. When I say bolt on i just mean the caliper, i don't mind machining rotors to fit i can do that myself. I just want a nice factory looking option that will clear 13's. Also the car is just a road car with an sr20de in it so a nice single or twin pot caliper will be fine.
