Gas shocks are just crap, too much rebound for such a little car, makes it too skittery, KYB's are great.

yes coops im listening spring compessors are good to use coz thats what they are made for i used bluebird rear springs and im about to put in KYB inserts as monroe gt gas doesnt like motorkhana and khanacross even with the bluebird springs if u want really stiff spings use lj torana stock or sports front springs

I always use a sheet of carpet to stop bits flying out all over the place, and some strong fencing wire to keep the stock spring compressed and with the shorter spring you should be able to do the nut up without compressing the spring.

You could always just buy spring compressors but whats the fun in that (i've got some just cant find them).

changing springs is fun and easy! all you need to do is lay the strut on the ground, stand all over it with your steelcap boots and use a spanner to keep your hand out of the way of the nut when it comes off.

Personally I use a rattle gun cos it's way quicker but the other steps remain the same

on my ute i have one side 1200 set up with drums, it sits 2finger gap between guard to tyre and on the other side i have the silvia brakes with 120y struts and it sits a mile high..

should i just use the 1200 caps or cut the spring?

or is there another way to get it lower.. coz there 1200 low king springs

For what it's worth though, you can get some cheap spring compressors.

I use mine once in a blue moon, but it saves putting nut-shaped holes through the shed wall...

good old variable rate....ive always started cutting from the variable end to get rid of the soft part

no 120y's around you to steal the sway bar from? save spending time with the trusy arc

been a while since i took some stock springs out(1200/120y) but i dont think they spring very far, so either do as unfam said and strap the spring a bit to limit its extention.....or just make sure you have something to catch the nut if it does decide to take flight
