The front doors only look from the outside with the key. If you don't have a key take the number off of the ignition switch in the dash and get some cut by a qualified locksmith as they can look up the number and cut to suit. i have the tailights i think as well as a back seata and master cylinder new ones were only about $60 though.

If the locks in the doors are actualy connected, move the lever the opposite way to what you would when opening, like dundee said.

If its a single circuit, i would say yeh it is the same. Shouldnt be expencive new, and probably a good idea too!

what year is the car? I know sedans change mid run. I have 1 sedan tail light lens i think.

Rust free isnt a rare thing in 1000s!

Never seen any castor rod mounts broken! My rods were nearly rusted through tho! So its been torn off the sub frame? The front mount im assuming? Maybe just bang it back in place and re-weld it up?

NFI on the boss kit

I recently bought a Boss for my 1000 from Temac enterprises on Ebay $48 posted. Despite assurances that it would fit, the indicator pins were wrong. Drilled new holes closer to the centre and it works OK. Also the female threads for the small bolts were crap and made a mess of the supplied 4mm bolts. So, If you are stuck for a boss, these will work but be aware of these problems.

I will use Knox auto carpet (Melbourne)when the time comes

Could be worse. In an old centura that a friend had, the indicator stalk was so loose that when you went over a hump, it would drop down and turn on!

Turning them off manually is not usually liked by the inspection folk much...

mmm, might be worth getting the thing recovered, for some reason it has a leather outer on the datsun steering wheel., otherwise he will just have to turn blinkers off manually

Is the 1200 boss kit for the steering wheel the same or wha can be used from experience.
No.
The spline size is the same as the 1200 but the blinker cancelling pins are close together in the 1000 & much wider apart in the 1200, so the 1200 wheel, or boss kit will not work in the 1000.

You will need either a genuine 'Coupe option' wheel, or a boss kit that is made for the 1000. As far as I can tell, they are not available new, even though some eBay sellers offer boss kits that they claim are for 1000/1200.

You can see the pin spacing difference in the photo.
