The ute diff can take the extra grunt and torque of a CA, so if you're blowing the centre out of it you're doing well.

I agree about the 'box, I'd upgrade to a 60 series straight away. The engines out of the car as it is, isn't it?

m no expert, but wouldnt it just be simpler to get any and all upgrades planning on being done, done at the start that way you can have more fun and not wait til something dies in the arse, i know that $$$ would be and usually is an issue as well as not many people have that kind of money sitting around. if we did everything would be finished by now!!! lol

anyway that is only my thoughts you guys know way more then me so better off listening to them i guess!!!!

It all depends on what you intend to do with the car, I would at least upgrade the gearbox to the sunny 4spd. The 1200 4spds dont last too long if your ringing 2nd out all the time.

As for the diff, in my 1200 i'm still running the H145 behind my L16 with twin 40's etc. but its my daily so I dont go around doing standstills and silly stuff like that so it will last. I've just left the clutch stock at the moment so that is the weakest link and will just slip if anything and prematurely wear out, which is fine with me.

Hope that helps.

Edit: beat me to it reuby

Your standard gearbox and diff centre will cope with that if you dont dump clutches, but the reality is that you arent doing this drive like a granny. So with that in mind, the standard stuff will cope i think with what you have in mind, but more than that, and a diff upgrade might be in order.

Or you could just let nature decide and keep going till it tells you to change em out.

Hey guys,

I am doing some mods progressively. and I want to know how far I can go before I need to change the diff/Transmission.

Here is the list....
I have an A14
Mild Port job done (Major work soon)
I have a GX cam installed.
I have some quad throttlebodies off a motorbike (soon).
haltech h7 computer fuel only. (when I get throtts on)
Eventually Sequential injection and spark with megasquirt. I have an awesome idea for coil over plug ignition using CA18 coil packs.....would look cool on an a series.
