Both the manual and auto bottom parts (auto seems a little wider) are too narrow at the point where the gearbox has its mount to reach the floor & directly bolt it though.

On another forum it has been suggested to make custom tabs to mount to one of the stock mounts, possibly mount the tabs with two bolts & sandwhich plates inside the car.

i had the same thing with my 56a in auto tunnel.

it has to be a custom job.

i made a new gearbox crossmember using the existing tunnel mounts.

Sounds like you have a 60 series smooth case. either make brackets up to space it back to the auto tunnel mounts or make a new crossmember and bolt it to the floor with sanwhich plates

it is 20cm out - you'd have to flip the mount 90* not 180*

dunno what the gearbox is except it is a 4spd - doesn't have 56A or any other obvious markings on it - it all bolted up in the donor manual shell like a bought one (except the A14 motor had modified mounts of course)
It was al

Depends on what gearbox you have in it. I had a 56A in the auto tunnel once with if memory serves correct the auto mount reversed. 60A you need to do the same but space it back.

Hey guys,

Put the A14 & manual box into the good painted shell on Sunday & encountered a bit of a problem - the mount points are about 20mm further back in the auto shell than in the manual one.

What have some of you guys done to get around this?

Cheers
Ash
