No, you shouldnt be looking for a pintara. The pintara came with a ca20( read boat anchor) and the gearbox is the only thing really worth using.
Dont stuff around, just buy a motor and gearbox out of a silvia and be done with it. This is what you want by the sounds of things, its the only place you will get a ca18 or sr20 rwd set up in australia, and if you want to use the standard datsun shifter hole and handbrake position, buy the stumpy box and use the bell housing from the silvia box on the stumpy.

MR30 skylines (early 80s) which are 6 cylinder have the stumpy 5 speed. Pintara's were never made then. the Pintara the your refering to is the R31.

Hope this clarifies it for you.

well that funny all i been hearing is the "STUMPY BOX" only come from pintara R30 4cyls with the CA18????......and silvia's had the long box......
you sure your not mistaking skyline with pintara

mixed info im getting,

i dont want to buy a box finding out it the wrong one
