pretty sure boof is running no rear sway bar at all.

its either too soft in front spring, or that boof bar really makes that car very rigid

Hey Adrian

Great to see you finally made it to the track.
What happened to the problem you had with those things (can't remember now the correct naming) that you struggled to put on the front struts?

if the inside rear is lifting, it's the front that's too soft.

unless something else is causing it - like too large rear bar, or not enough rebound travel in the shocks or springs.

scruiteneers definitely have issues with old cars at a current model car club events !!!

aside from the early hassels the rest of the day was awesome !!
as this was my first time on a proper track day i had to drive with a "buddy" in the passenger seat. this was a good help on the nerves and also getting a few pointers early.
by the 2nd session i was getting the hang of the race tyres and picking lines better and the laps were getting smoother.
by the end of the day my best lap time was 1:58.6 and in the last session i had, i managed to link 2 1:59's together as well as chase down a late model STI impreza and pass him
i've got a few things to sort on the car suspension wise, the rear was a little soft in the corners and rolling around. the front held nice and the topgear lsd worked a treat, even with the inside rear wheel up in the air !!

looking forward to the next one now, so hopefully april will see the next outing

i got no pics to show to looking forward to them dave !!

daves car looks to handle a treat with ca power pushing it around the track nicely ! there were plenty of "suprised" comments from spectators every time the little green datto was on the track

Yesterday Adrian (boofhead) and I went to Winton raceway with the wrx club. It was a perfect day for racing with clear skies and mid 20's temp.

We both had issues getting through scrutineering but I've concluded that they choose to pick on the older cars just because there's never anything to pick up on with a near new wrx. Apparently the scrutineer I had was cursing "that bloody datsun" all morning after passing my car without needing anything changed (we have history)

My best time for the day was a 1:44.3 and think adrian did a 1:58 although I'll let him confirm that. Despite having some spongy brake issues the car ran well all day and went quicker than plenty of wrx's and evos.

The day was soured a bit when a young bloke put his R33 into a wall in one of the last sessions of the day. It was pretty bent and may be a write off.

Pics and vids are on the way. Short compilation of the day
