the term is write off not ride off! now that i have that off my chest,

sr20de compared to a15... would choose sr20de due to reliability compared to a15 pushing out 14sec 1/4 miles.

sr20de compared to ca18det.... unless you sort out traction, you might as well go sr20de, as most caare luck to get 12 but heaps in 14 to 13sec bracket over 1/4 mile as no traction.

Its all relative to what you need it for. daily and fun sr20de, fun weekender ca18det.

another bonus sr20 is timing chain not timing belt, extra piece of mind there.

with big cams and that compression you should have heaps more than 120kw. Apparantly the sr20 ecu's are programmable so aftermarket isnt needed.

i dont beleive it would make it any more nose heavy than a ca18det install.
really, if you use a sr20de with all the #### you dont need removed it would only come in a wee bit heavier and surely couldnt cost more than a ca18det.

unless ca's make the car a lead tipped arrow too.

theres a hole heap of 1200 in the 14s with a15s

where?

My mate had 110rwkw from a stock s13 sr20de with extractors and exhaust. I would say it would have been better in every way (except weight) than your average worked a15.

the best and only 1/4 mile times i found for a sr20de in a 1200 was a 14.6 and theres a hole heap of 1200 in the 14s with a15s so my point is why make the car so nose heavy and its a lot of $$ and mods to fit the motor

a decent standard SR20DE will put out about 125bhp at the wheels, which should be good for 14's in a 1200.
