Yes, all sedans have vertical shocks. Coupes have staggered shocks, which is apparently better for the street (less wheel hop?).

So the coupe and 2door are equal first, coupe has a pro with the 40mm lower roof line; 2door has a pro in the fact it just looks better (my very biased opinion) and is lighter (how much by?).

Just thinking does the 2door have upright rear shocks?

I race a 1200 Coupe but the sedan has better rear suspension set-up to start with - vertical shocks vs the Coupe's which are angled and really need to be turreted (but I haven't yet done mine).

WhiteSedan, your pluses are for the 2-dr sedan:

> lower roof line
True (40 mm) but the 2-dr sedan has better aerodynamics if you lower it to the same height

> I would of thought the coupe to be lighter than the 2door sedan?

2door is lightest

> easier to fit flares and gain wheel clearance

Ditto for 2-door.

> assembled in japan so they seam sealed them much better and are much more intact these days.

Ditto for 2-door.

But the difference is oh so slight. Coupe is just as good.

I second that..

2 Door sedan all the way. But I would like to race a 2 door VAN...345 tyres on the back under full tubs..niiiice.

Best model to race with? Coupe hands down, lower roof line, (I would of thought the coupe to be lighter than the 2door sedan?), easier to fit flares and gain wheel clearance, and most are assembled in japan so they seam sealed them much better and are much more intact these days.

I don't like the coupes though, my first car was a 1200 coupe, and I always thought it looked like a 120y.

Second the motion for the 2 door sedan (thats committee speak for i agree). Not only is it a lighter car,you can fit flares easier & probably get bigger tyres under the back even before the flares. There can't be much difference in the weight distribution between the 2 sedan models, but you could always move some of the accesories to the rear, like the battery, if you want to.

The 2-dr sedan is the lightest, so use that. Lighter weight = faster acceleration.
