well see i respect your point of view D right up until you turn around and again bag people for choices they make... i guess some of us are just big enough to say what floats your boat is cool but i like "..this and that..." while others hide behind their dog and call people names...

I still think bigger wheels on a car that looks great with pissy 13 or 14 is a wank thing. Im not bagging anyone directly just my point of view.
If you like to ruin a classic car with overdone wheels that only suit modern and larger cars in terms of aesthetics thats your pull.
I dont like almost ricers with datsuns. I didnt call anyone a fxxwit just a wanker = try hard, peter pan dreamer, overdoer, ricer, lack of tastebuds, stereotype tosser etc.

Overall well setup 13 or 14s will decimate 16 or 17s in every department of handling, durability and balanced aesthetics.

i have 175 70 13 on at the moment and they hit the fire wall on full lock.. hm

This wheel offset calculator may be of some help.

Stock 600x12 tyre = 574mm diameter.
Opt 155R12 tyre.. = 554mm diameter.
175x70x13 tyre ... = 576mm diameter.
165x60x13 tyre ... = 552mm diameter.

The body was designed around the 600x12 tyre & your current fitment is within 1mm [radius] of that, so the tyre probably rubs due to the degree of lowering &/or the degree of offset of the rims you are using.
If you had fitted the 185x60x13's you would get more rubber on the road, a low ride without so much suspension lowering, & therefore more available suspension travel & more clearance to allow full steering lock.

185x40x17 would measure 580mm diameter probably a bit big on the front.
195x35x17 would measure 568mm, diameter, probably a good choice. [if such a size actually existed.]

Big wheels are simply for wankers.
Unless you car is double the size of little datsuns and modern in design.
eg. el venomous viper and other monsters.

not sure i appreciate being called a wanker buddy.....you may not have been talking directly to anyone but here is the thing....i haven't heard anyone call you a f##kwit for your choices and preferences...pull your head in and maybe in future just offer suggestions don't bag people for what they like or their opinions...
