The lesson I hope I have learnt is to not be too much of a dickhead behind the wheel. I got an 86 535i exec and me and my mates were cruising the back roads of harcourt the day i got it. We drove up mount Alexander and were were all going pretty quick. We got to the top and had a smoke and one of my mates said be careful you just got the car and have no a.b.s and i laughed and said 'ABS is for fags.' Then bout five minutes later going down the mountain i went into a corner too fast and got on the brakes too hard and had a big lockup into a tree and ruined my new car :( Oh well I wouldn't have a datsun unless i crashed it :) Lucky I had no passengers coz the impact was passenger side

3- Simple one, don't drink drive. i got caught 50 meters away from my house. and now with the new laws, even first time offense, $330 fine, 6 months no license, $145 drink driving course, $70 alcohol assessment by a Dr, court appearance, interlock system fitted and tested every month $$!!!!, then 3 years at BAC .0
Poor didums Feel sorry for your self dont think you have lernt a thing the whole reason they have these Drink driving Laws is due to the fact that well you might make it home and then theres the chance that the person you KILL wont make it home I know what it is like to loose a family member due to a drink driver and It makes me feel SSSSOOOO great that he has had christmas with his family for the last 8 years yet for some reason My daughter will never meet her Gran.
So think again you havnt learnt a thing besides the whole girl freind driving thing

i've got 3 BIG ONES!!! that i've learnt in the last 6 months. 1- Don't teach your girlfriend how to drive a manual (unless you want a blown head gasket, or an excuse to get rid of the girl) 2- Don't then leave the car for a week on the side of the road (unless you want your hub caps pinched!) 3- Simple one, don't drink drive. i got caught 50 meters away from my house. and now with the new laws, even first time offense, $330 fine, 6 months no license, $145 drink driving course, $70 alcohol assessment by a Dr, court appearance, interlock system fitted and tested every month $$!!!!, then 3 years at BAC .0 now days i look out my window, at my beloved 1000 with a stuffed engine, sitting on stockies, wondering whether the rain is going to stop, so i can ride my bike to the shops.

thats messed up, I'm guessing by run out of steam you mean die? I hope i'm never first on the scene of something like that.
Yeah by 'run out of steam' I mean die. Fit, healthy people are able to cope with trauma better than unfit overweight people. Their hearts can compensate better, organs such as the liver can release sugars and hormones to help the body cope with the drop in blood pressure and electrolyte levels. Also, it

Some advice for the future.
Dont drive a cab-over van or be overweight. And thats not for good looks.
I had the privilage of dealing with a very messy MVA today involving a new toyota van and landcruiser. Drivers of vans dont fare well in head ons, and fat buggers tend to run out of steam.
Just thought that I would share that since I dont want to see that again any time soon.
Rock on folks

i also learnt a lesson dont drive to fast on a road you dont know cause i rolled my ute tonight and well i walked away without a bruise but with a totaled car and half a license thanks to the police who decided to get me for neg driving which was for failing to drive to the road conditions (60 along a dirt road )
Just thank your lucky stars that you came out unharmed. You have to remember that one of the purposes of a cabin is to provide protection to the occupants, and if the ute is totalled, but you are fine, then it did its job. And the police, well remember that they are doing their job too. Look at it this way, you could be in hosiptal with every modern medical miracle hooked up to you with 5 people buzzing over you, or worse.
Sounds to me like you got a good deal.
yeh i am really lucky but i have to buy another car as the ute only had 3rd party so im not to happy about that but thank god hiluxs are fairly cheap

My lesson learnt is not to buy a car on eBay sight unseen and rely only on the photo's supplied by the owner. Bloody photo shop mongrels.
