Converted, I apreshate your input and do understand that the gx models in australia are very rare. It's most likely that when I find one it will be from japan or south africa. I know of one sunny GX coupe in australia that he imported many years ago but will not part with it. I think even at worst a GX5 coupe replica done to 70s japan race specs would be very satisfing.

GX5 i really really hope you do find one it will give me hope...however I will believe it when i see it. I dont know of ANY club members (except for maybe Stirlingmac) who owns a GX. And I have been a member of this club for well over 5 years.
Anyway your orignal question is that yes the GX is on the compliance plate. Without the compliance plate its not a GX.

the only gx 1200 i have ever seen was here in qld, a few months ago, a sedan that was a south african import, as converted said.
it belongs to a member on here, and he got it for a couple of grand i think.
i think the only way to get yourself a gx, is to make a replica, and even the genuine gx PARTS are hard to get, let alone a whole car, trust me, its taken me 2 years to source the gx parts i have.

NZ.... for gx's...... umm NO. No point getting one from us, as we dont have em either.
If you want a proper gx and not a mix match car with the gx name, you are going to have to go to japan. Otherwise its never going to be a reeeaaall gx if you know what i mean.

Good luck though

again good luck finding a GX coupe....ive NEVER seen one in australia.
I have only seen a GX sedan in Qld go on ebay and it was imported from South Africa. You wont get a GX and IF and thats a REALLY BIG IF you get one you WILL NOT get it before I will.
Even John Bostons ex-Bathurst backup car which is now smashed has no plates and is a special wide body Nismo chassis specially made for racing.
As for the 100 examples imported for Australia I think that was the old Group A rules when they brought the Nissan GTR in. I really dont think they brought ANY GX coupes in the country via the factory.
John Taylor also had a genuine GX coupe that was 20 years ago...I dont know where that has gone.

ANYWAY....youre not going to get one before me Ive been looking for years. Ive been even thinking of importing a South African one...they are still a good price. Ones in Japan are going for close to $30,000 USD

GOOD LUCK....
