The metal grill mounts onto two tabs that are spot welded close to the headlights and one in the center, right in front of
the hood latch.

>> Metal grill ... didn't fit.

Strange. The sedan, coupe, ute and wagon all use identical front end everything (apart from disc brakes which
are easily swapped anyway).

Perhaps because of the year difference the mounting holes are in slightly different places.
Its very unlike Datsun to change the sheet metal between siblings.
Those tool presses cost a fortune to set up.

The rectangle 'D' is ugly. Circular 'D' is my favourite grill. I have a MINT metal grill that i was going to put on my coupe but it didnt fit. Only the
sedans i think.

Rear window rubbers you will not find new with the chome strip. Front window rubber you can.

Plastic light surround. As Wayne said, search your wrecking yard.

Early models had the metal grill as a carry over from the Datto 1000.
Then they swapped to a plastic grill with a "D" in circular pod in the centre.
Later model utes (concurrent with the 120Y) had the plastic grill with the "D" logo in a
rectangular pod.

Personally, I think the plastic+rectangular D is butt ugly, the circualr D is okay and the metal
grill is best.

Windscren rubber can probably be made new for you by a windscreen rubber company.
Check the phone book.

Chromed plastic rear lights are a lost cause.
ALL second hand units should have peeled by now.
They charge a fortune to rechrome these things.
And new stock will not be easy to find and not cheap.
I recommend painting them.
Clever use of masking tape should get you a nice two tone finish.

Front light surronds are metal.
Clean em up and take them to the local chrome plating shop.
No worries.

New windscreen should be okay at your local windscreen replacement shop.
May take them some time to actually get it in stock.
May get lucky at a wrecking yard.

Hi everyone,
I have just got the new shell for my Rally 1200 sedan back from the paint shop. It looks awesome (especially the complete fibreglass front end which only cost $NZ350.00, if anyone
is interested). The problem is, the old parts I have to put back on it don't look quite as hot.

I somehow need to find a new/ good second hand windscreen and rear window rubber seal in NZ or possibly australia. The side windows are lexan and are screwed in.

The metal 1200 grill I have is a bit bent after all its years in the gravel. Does anyone know what different grills are available and where I might be able to find a good
replacement?

The headlights/ taillights (especially the plastic chrome surrounds) are looking the worse for wear as well.

I'm sure you have all had the task of finding these sort of bits in good condition before, and any ideas would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Fraser
