I feel it should be a mandatory feild, you can be as detailed as you want with your details.
It does help every one to see where some one is from to help them with advice or help your self if your looking for parts.

that said... it does help a lot to know someone's location, its pretty basic information and the internet knows where you are anyway so don't kid yourself

Its not about whether its dangerous or not. Its about people and there different perceptions on privacy regarding the Internet and Forums. No matter how misconceived or insane it seems. It's there right to believe what they like. So to challenge that or appear to challenge it may just push them away. That was 50 cents worth there.

Quite possable,so make it mandatory for a location,then we may not have as many cretins time wasting and using never to be used again user names just as Dodgy made us aware of recently.

but the people they dnt put info are people that just come on here to sell sumthing and then go or to ask one question then never see the site again

I don't know how dangerous it would be to include the info that one is located in Missouri USA, or Queensland Australia, or The Transvaal South Africa, even North Island N.Z.

That's a good start & at least tells us which country one is in. That's what I call basic location details & should be enough to start with.
