fully locked is also harder for hand brake entrys so much easyer just to drag the inside wheel with your open/lsd diff and still works well but locked is more fun!!

no, i locked it cos i put the ca in to handle the power better. it hard with stock old diffs though you dont know what condition they are in and how well they will cope being locked. i had one diff locked for a couple of months and it blew cos welding it weakened the center and taking turns put stress on it. i hardly even gave it any.

Most of my cars have had locker H145's without major hassle, I've always made sure my clutch is the weakest link to avoid repeated breakages, although I have had a few. If your dumping the clutch with a CA18 its just not going to last, I think it only just holds in there with the L16.

Schmity, did regie have the locker when you got it?

yer i waiting for my skyline lsd diff to be delivered from maddat. i got sick of blowing the welded diffs so have been running open wheel to get me round. welding definately puts more strain on everything especially when turning. driving with open wheel is so much better and has lasted almost as long as a welded diff, but it not far from blowing. got some bad clunking sounds going on. the little diffs just werent ment to take the power of the ca.

ive got many 1200s, and have had about 5 BW78s (r31 skyline diffs)

to please every one else on the forum i would say try and hunt down an LSD, but for the cost factor a mini spool is far better

was looking at atleast $150 for a dead LSD then another $400 to rebuild it if it wasnt all that bad. ive got one LSD at home that all the centre has been smashed apart in it and it was only behind a stock EA 5 speed

it wouldnt be a hard task to find an LSD to suit, it would be a hard task to find one to suit that isnt dead though
and then you would want to make sure you baffle your diff if you have a rebuilt LSD in it as BW diffs really werent designed to keep the oil in the middle of the diff

but any 28 spline BW LSD that had 3.08-4.11 gears will do the job, most commonly found in VN-VS V8s, EB 2-AU xr6 xr8, or R31 skyline silhouette

What would you reccomend stick with the locked r31 diff or try find an lsd as from what i know i didnt think lsd's were that special anyways??
