My top speed in my first 120y was 142kmh at 7000RPM.
I used to rev my mildly rebuilt a12 to 8000, but it didn't really acheave anything.

As for the ca18 going around the clock twice, that doesn't sound right. I bought a 120y with a ca18 DET from adelade and when driving back to Melbourne got up to between 180 - 190 kmph and the speedo only went round once to 0. Only reason I know the approx speed was because my friend was driving his Ford Terriroty and he was going about 200 and I was behind him.

dont know about my old a12 but my L20b Goes to 8500 to 9000 revs maxed out

so whats the hardest people have reved thier motors to? i was a little worried when i hit 6 grand but ive heard people say they have reved the A series out to 8 grand

Had my old ute stock acsept for header/exhaust ruffly 20kph past 160 but it was about 10% out, so ruffly around 160 anyway's

When I drove my van back from Adelaide it was doing 130kph sitting on about 5500rpm. Mabey thats where all my oil went. It used 4 litres by Baccus Marsh.

76 b210 /120y tire 175 70 13s buried the 120 speedo and still pulling in 4th with stock A14.
